We left the Milk River valley and entered the Missouri River valley. We saw a historical marker about a stern wheeler that made it up to this area from St. Louis. First of all, we couldn't figure out how it got this far--we haven't seen the Missouri yet, but we assume it's much bigger than the Milk and all the other creeks and rivers we've seen since we left Glacier. Tomorrow we'll cross the Missouri as we head south to avoid the chaos being created by the massive oil and gas exploration in northwestern North Dakota.
It may appear that we've been slacking on the micro brew updates, but it's because we haven't seen one. Today we found a very small place in Wolf Creek, and sampled their Big Daddy Double IPA, so named because it was brewed on Father's Day. We also found out about another micro brewery that we'll hit tomorrow.
Notes from Jerry: We didn't realize, but yesterday we ended our drive in a historic place, one of the few remaining gas stations from a gent named Clack who had the first gas stations across the Hi-Line in the early 30's. It is now a rest stop, but pretty cool, and we read all the info as we were getting ready to start the ride at 7:30 this morning. The Hi-Line is the name for US Hwy 2 which was also called Teddy Rooselvelt highway, and back in the thirties it was still a collection of rural roads that were linked together. Of course many were not paved and the road turned into gumbo when it rained.
We are staying the night in Glasgow, MT at another great B&B via Patty's PEO organization with our hosts Carlene and Jeff. Really fun to visit and enjoy their great house on a hill above the town.
Patty's notes:
A day of driving. If Montana weren't so far across, or the towns a little closer, I would not be spending so much of my days in the car. Good thing I like to drive :)
My adventure today was a rescue along US Hwy 2. Traveling along at 70mph, I could see a large white animal walking along the side of the road. Slowed way down and a very friendly whitish retriever lopped on over to the car. I got out, grabbed his collar and got him off the road and out of the path of other cars also traveling 70mph. I realized that this dog was pretty far from home - but where, oh where does this doggie live? I got him in the car and headed east (the guys could wait a few minutes). I turned into a driveway about a quarter mile up the road - drove up to the house - opened the door and let doggie out. No one home, but doggie seemed to like the house - so I hopped back into the car and left doggie. Got to Wolf Creek just as the guys were riding in. So, doggie found a home and I gathered the guys and headed to the mircro-brew - everyone is happy.

Rereading you adventure, and I had forgotten about the Doggy bit. Love it. It's a farm house with room to run. Dog looked happy?!!? Duh. :)
